Need some Northern Irish musical inspiration?

Need some Northern Irish musical inspiration?

At The Inside Trek, we really do mean it when we say we seek every opportunity we can to surround our guests with beautiful, considered items of every kind – especially those created with care by skilled local craftspeople with a story to tell. And that extends beyond physical items like all the gorgeous Irish furniture & homewares in the Copper Barn. It applies just as much to the great music we listen to.

We love music. We feel lucky and privileged to have access to music streaming and its ability to connect us to music from almost any era and artist.

And of course, being just as passionate about all things local, we are big fans of great music from Northern Ireland.

Northern Ireland really has produced some cracking musicians, from the world famous to the locally coveted, across all genres of music from rock to modern classical.

Whether it’s big uplifting anthems to prepare for a big hike in Northern Ireland’s hills, or something to wash over you as you sit in front of the fire in the Copper Barn with a glass in your hand, there will be sublime songs from Northern Ireland’s finest musicians to match your mood.

Here’s some of our favourites. Sit back, get comfortable, and give these a listen. And, if you’re feeling suitably inspired by the creativity of our wee homeland, come and find your Inside Trek:

Van Morrison – Ballerina (from album ‘Astral Weeks’)

Ryan Vail & Elma Orkestra – My Island (from album ‘Borders’)

Foy Vance – At Least My Heart Was Open (from album ‘Live At Bangor Abbey’)

Jarlath Henderson – Courting is a Pleasure (from EP Hearts Broken, Heads Turned)

Malojian – Let Your Weirdness Carry You Home (from the album of the same name)

The Wood Burning Savages – I Don’t Know Why I Do It To Myself (from album ‘Stability’)

Ash – Arcadia (from the album Teenage Wildfire)

Kitt Philippa – Human (from the album of the same name)
