The Inside Trek was conceived by 46 year old ‘local lad’ Andrew Magowan, and is jointly owned between Andrew and his lifelong friend Michael Laverty.

Meet Andrew – the one on the left:
“I am a trained Hill & Moorland Leader, and a member of both Mountaineering Ireland and the Mountain Training Association.
As well as founding The Inside Trek, I am also founder of sustainability strategists ‘How Now: For Our Future’. I am also a trustee of London-based charity the Barons Court Project, and a volunteer surf mentor with The Wave Project charity in Portrush, County Antrim. And, in a past life, I’ve been a corporate lawyer for over twenty years, more of which you can find out about here.
In my spare time (that I’m not on the hills or out with my wee Springer Rosie), I love watching Ulster play rugby (usually pretty well) and I play golf at Massereene Golf Course (usually pretty badly). I loves music (especially live), and cooking (with local ingredients, of course).
And here’s Michael – the one on the right:
“I’m Antrim born & bred and, in addition to my non-executive role with The Inside Trek, I work in the environmental sector. I’ve three kids, and two dogs, none of whom are quite as keen on hiking as I’d like them to be, sadly.
